Ralph L. Thompson

Ralph L. Thompson, 79 of New Freeport, died Sunday, April 22, 2018.
He was born July 14, 1938 in Morris Township, Greene County, a son of the late James Leslie and Virginia Lee Toland Thompson.
Mr. Thompson served in the United States Army and lived all of his life in Greene County.
He had worked for 22 years in the shipping department at West Penn Wire Company.
Ralph was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and repairing small engines.
On December 6, 1968 he married Donna Lee Toland, who died January 7, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Thompson of Greensboro, and Brenda Lee Jones of New Freeport; four grandchildren, Jason Hennen, Brian Hennen, Krista Moore and Bradley Moore; nine great grandchildren; five brothers, Daniel and John Thompson both of Sycamore, Harold “Jim” Thompson of West Alexander, Sam Thompson of Rutan, Thomas “Squirt” Thompson of West Finley; two sisters, Bertha Kinney of Graysville, and Sarah Keefer of West Alexander.
Deceased are two sons who died in infancy, Jason Lynn Thompson and Ralph L. Thompson Jr.; two brothers, James M. Thompson and Woodrow Earl Thompson; and a sister, Irma Henry.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with Evangelist Samuel Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Dallas, WV. Condolences may be expressed on line at www.behmfh.com.
