Barbara Ann Shepherd, 85, of Bryan, Texas passed away on Monday, September 30th, 2019. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 2nd, 1934 to Olive and Tommy Alston. She was married to Herbert Shepherd for 68 loving years.
Barbara was a loving homemaker and raised all three of their children. She later went on to work for Exxon in the Human Resources Department. She was a member of Sun Valley Church of Christ in Houston.
She enjoyed being involved in her children’s school PTA, and volunteering for elections. She had a love for tennis and enjoyed playing it in her younger years and watching it with her husband in her later years. Barbara enjoyed feeding and watching birds, and gardening on their land in Bryan. She had a talent for cooking and was known for baking her specialty pies and cakes.
She is survived by her Husband Herbert Shepherd, Daughter Charlotte Linton and husband Eric Linton, Daughter Sharon Beard and husband Steve Beard, Son Dale Shepherd and wife Mary Shepherd. Granddaughter, Kaylee Lamothe and husband Jared Lamothe, Granddaughter Kenzie Poitinger, Granddaughters Hannah Shepherd and Emma Shepherd. Great- Grandchildren, Mabel Poitinger, Layton Lamothe & Layne Lamothe, Sisters Joyce Alston-Dixon, Beth Miletello and their families.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Committal Service to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
