Harrold W. Drumm, 93, of Wellfleet, died, Sunday, September, 8, 2019 at home. He was the husband for 68 years to his loving sweetheart, Margaret F. Drumm.
He was born in Bucks County, PA in 1926, moving to Ramsey, NJ in 1940, where he graduated high school. He then moved to Philadelphia, PA, enrolling in Drexel Institute of Technology. Concurrently, to finance his education, Harrold obtained a position as an instrument maker, producing instruments for use in the "Manhattan Project" (atomic bomb).
Moving back to New Jersey, he completed his formal education, receiving a B.S. in Science, at Fairleaigh Dickinson University. Concurrently, he obtained a position at I.T.T. Corporation, where after several years, he rose up the ladder to position of Engineering Section Head. His expertise was in the field of Navigational Aids for the U.S. Coast Guard and the F.A.A. In addition, he was involved with high powered transmitters for use on the Bomarc Early Missile Program.
Retiring after 36 years, he and his wife, retired to a home he built in Wellfleet. He stayed active with a hiking group, race walking, stained glass artwork, golf, biking, chess, woodworking, traveling the entire East Coast in a camper, and helping neighbors.
