Margaret Wiens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Wiens (nee Guenther) at the age of 96 years at the St. Boniface hospital. Left to cherish her memories are her sons Larrie (Gail), Leonard (Elaine), Raymond (Barbara); daughter Beverly Franzmann (Robert); 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; as well as 2 brothers Hank (Helen) and Dave (Mary); along with many family members and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents, and husband Jake (2012), 3 sisters and 1 brother. Born in Morden and raised on a farm eventually moving to Wpg. To work. She married Jake Wiens in 1947. They lived in Wpg. for 2 years before moving to Carman where they farmed until 1973. They retired from farming and moved to Wpg. where she worked as a maid until 1982 when she retired. She loved her gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and in later years she loved her puzzles. Her children would like to thank all the staff at Lindenwood Terrace as well as the staff at St. Boniface hospital for all of their excellent care. A private service was held on May 13. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to: Diabetes Canada Manitoba div. She will be missed by all who knew her.
