Yvette Marie Edwina Arnal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvette Arnal after 6 months of many medical issues on December 25, 2018 at Meadowood Manor at the age of 97.Yvette is survived by sister Fernande Morin; her sons, Ben and Allan (Lise); her daughter Anita-Louise Doig (John); grandchildren Chantale, Jason, Sarah and Jesse; great-grandchildren Jovée, Nicole, Payge, and Isla. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Rose Alma Rivard, her husband Laurent and her sister May Violette Marcotte. She was born in Dufrost, MB on October 14, 1921 and married Laurent Arnal on June 14, 1944. She became a homemaker on their farm in Fannystelle, MB from 1945 until 1974, when the farm was sold. In 1966, they moved to Winnipeg; being a wife of a farmer was hard work and Yvette was relieved to move to the city into a comfortable home. Furthermore, in the mid 70’s they started spending their winters in Texas. Yvette’s winter retreats continued even after Laurent’s passing in 2001. Yvette was always willing to lend a hand, taking care of her grandchildren in both Winnipeg and Vancouver kept her busy for many years. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed making large family meals. Even at the young age of 96 her sons, Ben and Allan will miss the home baked good she would make them. The family would like to thank Concordia Hospital and Meadowood Manor for the care and support provided at her time of need. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Interment will take place following the service at Holy Angel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
