Obituary of Richard Michael Morris
In 1953, the family moved to Yakima, where Mike graduated from Yakima High School in 1955. After high school, he enlisted into the Navy in 1956 on board the ship Lenawee and traveled the world. He married Sheryl Repp in 1959; together they had four children whom he loved dearly, Pam, Ray, Russ and Randy. They enjoyed family vacations to the beach, Montana, and California. Mike worked with his dad at a family business, F &M Transfer; later Mike took over the company and ran it together with his son Randy until 2010. He loved flying, and got his pilot license; he also loved playing his tuba in the Yakima Elks Band. After retiring, he loved going to the casinos, traveling and seeing most of the country. He worked for a short time at the Yakima Herald, then volunteered at the McAllister’s Flight Museum. Mike loved his grandchildren Chantal, Leah, Michaun and Anna, and his great-grandchildren Christian, Haiden, Jax and Liam. Mike had a great life until his health no longer permitted it. He loved to sit and watch the birds outside his window every day, and he loved that ramp, Anthony! Special thanks to his son Randy who took care of his dad, along with Randy’s wife Annette, daughters Chantal and Leah. Dad was so thankful to be in his home for that time with all of them. The family would like to thank Cheri and the Hospice team, for helping during his stay at home, and also to the wonderful staff at Cottage in the Meadow. We cannot thank you enough for the comfort and compassion you gave Dad and our family during this time. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, sisters Margie and Nancy, and his good friends Dave Fuller, Don C, Don R, Roger, Donna and John Brown. We love you Dad, and we will miss your famous spaghetti, a true family favorite. Forever in our hearts, until we see you again. A memorial page is set up through Keith and Keith Funeral Home at www.keithandkeith.com. At our Dad’s request, there will be no funeral service, but we will have a celebration of life at a later time for family and friends.
