Bonnie Collier Johnsen

Bonnie Collier Johnsen passed peacefully January 6, 2021 in Norfolk, Virginia. Born November 27, 1954 in Norfolk, she spent her life living and loving all things Tidewater. She was predeceased by her parents Clyde L. “Joe” and Doris B. Collier of Virginia Beach. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 46 years William L. Johnsen, her daughters Christina Johnsen and Kathleen Trimble, son-in-law Greg and her sister Jeanette Tyler, all of Virginia Beach. She was loved by her grandchildren: Brianna, Joey, Taylor and Haile and more recently great-granddaughter Haylee. Bonnie also leaves behind a niece and three nephews. Along with her family, she will be missed by her “adopted son” Jim Gunnels, a group of “chosen family” (FPG) and her two 4-legged children, Mitsu and Kenji. She is gone way too soon but left an impact on so many that she could not have imagined. Anyone who knew her, knew her love of animals.
