Cotten Funeral Home

Osborne Bryan Harris Jr. (“Bryan”) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023. He is survived by his husband, Dusty Cantley; his sister, Diana Harris Carraway (Chris); his niece, Morgan Morris and nephews Brian Morris, Ross Carraway (Morgan), and Ryan Carraway (Emily), mother-in-law Selma Cantley, and father-in law Wendell Cantley, as well as many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, dear friends, and colleagues. He was born on June 17, 1965 in New Bern, North Carolina and was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Linda Rose Harris. Coming from a family of watermen, Bryan’s love of boating came naturally. He had always worked in the marine industry and was a skilled boat captain, diesel mechanic, and most recently manager of the Pocket Yacht Company in New Bern. His years with All Seas Contracting took him all over the world with his work and life partner, Dusty. Bryan’s love for the sea was exceeded only by his love for his family and friends. He never met a stranger and made life-long friends all along his travels. He was an excellent cook and loved to host a crowd. His heart was huge and his generosity and kind nature will be remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church, 320 Pollock St, New Bern, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center, P.O. Box 556, Harkers Island, NC 28531 https://www.coresound.com/ways-to-give/#donations Online condolences may be directed to www.cottenfuneralhome.com
