Obituary of Frances C. Harmeson
Frances C. Harmeson, 92, of Fishers, departed this life Monday, October 11, 2021. She was born October 31, 1928, in Sullivan County, Indiana. Due to difficult economic conditions, the family relocated to the vicinity of Cleveland, Ohio, where Frances graduated from Euclid Shore High School. Her stepfather later took a job at a country club in Union City, Indiana, where she met and married the love of her life, Bob. After starting a family, she went to work on the assembly line at Westinghouse for many years. Frances was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest making memories with her family. She was a devoted grandmother and a longtime and dedicated member of Harrisville Congregational Christian Church in Union City, IN. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and loved the company of her family at a meal. She was a master of homemade noodles, made a mean potato salad, and could always be counted on to serve Chex Mix and Rice Krispies Treats in 5-gallon buckets. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, James Robert Harmeson; her parents, Charles and Mabel (Joseph) Anderson; brothers, Olin Mattix, Horace Mattix, Marion Mattox and Bobby Joe Mattix. Frances is survived by her loving children, Sherron Horstman and James B. (Luan) Harmeson; brother, Herb (Judy) Davis; grandchildren, Josh (Lisa) Horstman, Jaime (Jeff) Barnard, Megan (Brian) Alexander, Julie Horstman, Justin Harmeson and Daniel (Natalie) Harmeson and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Frances will be at 10 am on Saturday, October 16th at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel and conclude at time of services at 11 am.
