Bradford Gregory Lampshire

Bradford Lampshire, 84, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on June 7, 2021. Brad was born in Annapolis, MD, on March 7, 1937, to Harvey and Maxine Lampshire. He mostly grew up in Arlington, VA.
Brad was a hard worker and loved to help others. One of his early jobs was shoveling coal on the great lakes as a teenager then later, a Captain in the Army, time with intelligence services, a gas station owner, and a policeman. He earned his Master’s Degree to become a teacher. In order to pay for his children’s college, he always worked multiple jobs, umpiring software and volleyball late into the night. He raised funds to send athletes to competitions, was the football commissioner for a local recreational league, organized and ran checkers and volleyball tournaments. He met Lee in Germany where they were married and eventually settled into VA.
He fought multiple health battles due to the effects of Agent Orange. He faced his decline with courage and passed away six months after his wife.
He is predeceased by his wife Lee and his sister Lillian Gay He is survived by, Geoffrey, his brother, his two children, Kristine and Gregory, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. We love him and miss him.
Visitation will be between 10-12:30 July 6. A graveside service will be held on July 6, 2 p.m., at Quantico National Cemetary. Both Brad and Lee consistently donated to St Jude’s for many years.
