Riitta what can I say except that I will truly miss you and I just expected you to be there long after I've gone. I had the friendship for over thirty years and we have had had great times. I've spent more time with you than any other friend. I've been bless that you have shared you family ,relatives, grandkids and yourself. I hope that you want me to attend you gathering tomorrow. I know it kind of late but I so wish you would send me a sign as what to do. Therehas never been a time when I've call and said let's clean one on my retail properties of help rearrange my complete condo or purge everything just one more time. Please know that your family and the grandchildren will not be overlooked. Thanks for you friendship all these years. Tina M Stover

For almost fifteen years, I worked alongside Riitta - sharing successes and challenges, celebrating births and grieving losses, sometimes agreeing and other times not quite seeing eye to eye. I knew that I could always count on Riitta to listen, to speak honestly and judge fairly, and to encourage me in my dreams and passions. Her generous heart and love of family inspired me to be a better woman and mother and even now with her passing - she comforts us with her poem. My life will forever be better for having known Riitta. Thank you to Sami and Sandrine for sharing her with me for so many years.

Riitta served the American Society of Military Comptrollers as our Associate Director for Financial Management for 17 years, taking care of all things finance, personnel, and logistics for our office. She enabled ASMC to not only provide member services to our 17,000 members, but more broadly to contribute to the professional development of the 54,000 members of the defense financial management community serving in the Department of Defense and the US Coast Guard. In June of 2017 she told me it was time for her to stop working and spend more time with family. When she dropped by the office, once or twice a couple months after that, she seemed so happy and content. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her illness and passing just a few months later. I will fondly remember her smile whenever she talked about her family. Riitta especially enjoyed bringing Dante into the office a couple of times and introducing him to the staff. Extending Riitta's family my most sincere condolences.

Please accept my sincere condolences of the death of Riitta Silverman. Riitta served as my Associate Director for Financial Mgmt for over eight years. Riitta was a great person to have in the office. Her calm professional demeanor helped us over many crises. In addition to being a trusted employee she was a close personal friend. She loved her son and daughter. Although I never met them she often spoke of them. We received regular updates on their progress and cheered each college degree or significant milestone. Riitta was a smart classy woman who made a significant contribution to all of our lives. She will be greatly missed.

Riitta was so helpful, caring and compassionate when I had to call and tell her that I was ill and would not be able to make it in to work. She would say. "don't worry about this place, take care of you. "

She will truly be missed.

My memories of Riitta are many, and center around her kindness, and hardworking, helpful nature. I feel blessed that she was my mother's neighbor for so many years, and will always remember how strong she was, whether working in the yard or facing illness. Love and comfort to you.
