Murphy Funeral Homes

Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Srisuwan, 62, of Arlington, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019 at her home. Cindy was born on May 11, 1956 in Everett, WA to Herbert and Janice Nierman. She graduated from Cascade High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in German Language and Linguistics from Georgetown University and a Master’s of Business Administration Degree from the University of Washington. She leaves two children, Alexander Srisuwan (Sawyer Baker) and Michael Srisuwan. She also leaves her brother, Douglas Nierman (Joan Stoupa) and her friends, all of whom will fondly remember her love of reading, penchant for crosswords, and love of classical music. Cindy loved traveling with her sons, being a lifelong student of piano, and catching up with her family in Washington and South Dakota. She was preceded in death by Janice Nierman (Mother) and Herbert Nierman (Father). Cindy was a proposal writer and manager of international logistics for government contractors in the Washington, DC area until she passed. The family would like to thank Anna Olsson, Cindy’s close friend of over 40 years, for her nearly life-long friendship. Family, friends, and others whose lives Cindy touched are invited to Vola’s Hi-Tide Lounge in Alexandria, VA on Cindy’s birthday, May 11, 2019, from 1-3PM to celebrate her life. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Cindy loved music and was an avid piano player and opera attendee. She supported her sons through many musical endeavors and they enjoyed many good times at Wolf Trap, from seeing Peter, Paul, and Mary, to Chicago, to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with live cannon fire. https://www.wolftrap.org/support/other-ways-to-give/tribute-gifts.aspx
