Edith Flippo Durrett

Edith Flippo Durrett, 83, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Durrett. Edith was a teacher at Kiddie Kingdom for over 30 years. She was an active member with United Methodist Women and served in several capacities throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her children, Janet Flynn (Rob) and Brian Durrett (Anne); grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Grace, Jacob, and Eli; sisters, Evelyn Durrett, Doris Morefield and her husband, Stuart; nephews, Jeff and Greg and nieces, Carla, Cathy, Tammy, and Ruby. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 18580 Partlow Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
