Obituary of Herbert C. Trivett
TRIVETT, Herbert C., 98, of Hanover, passed away on March 26, 2019. Herbert was the son of the late Claude and Mary Trivett, of Caroline County and one of nine children. He volunteered and served as a radio operator in the Army Air Corps from Normandy to Berlin for the duration of WWII, and held great pride for his country. He used his G.I. Bill after the war to put himself through neon school, honing his craft of bending neon tubing. That led to a decades long career in the neon sign business. Herbert was the pillar of his family, loved by all, sharing his love and generosity to all. Known for freely sharing his wisdom and sense of humor, welcomed or unwelcomed! He is survived by his children, Sandra Trivett (Mike), Deanna Purser (Chuck), Herbert Trivett Jr. (Alice), and Steve Trivett (Marilyn); Grandchildren, Kathryn, Emily, Rebecca, Marc, Amanda, Paul, Dana, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Abby, Bret, Nathan, Amber, Molly, Reyd1n, Daniel, Caleb, Matthew Jr., and Amelia; Siblings, Mildred Burner, Eleanor Sacra, and Harold Trivett; numerous other family members and many, many friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Nelsen Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
