Evelyn Joyce Joyce

Evelyn Joyce Joyce, 90, formerly of Fieldale, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Kimball, West Virginia, August 30, 1923 to George Walter Joyce and Annie Hersey Frith Joyce. She retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills and was a long-time member of Fieldale United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O D Joyce; brothers, Leonard Earl Joyce, George Walter Joyce, Jr., James Harold “Tap” Joyce, a son-in-law, Herve Tholance. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Anne Joyce Tholance of France; a grandson, Oliver Daniel Tholance; two great grandchildren, Leanna and Axel Tholance and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Bassett with the Rev. Tom Durance officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
