Franklin Dee Barlow

Franklin Dee Barlow, 74, of 66 Adrian Street in Bassett, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. He was born in Floyd County on March 29, 1937 to Dee and Ethel Simpson Barlow. He was employed by Roy Stone Transfer Company for over 25 years and retired from Massey Trucking. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Bowles and Betty Gearhart; three brothers, Grover, Pat and Fred Barlow. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Spangler Barlow of the residence; one daughter, Debby Barlow of Bassett; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Piedmont Cemetery in Shawsville with Rev. Guy Hartsock officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett. Arrangements under the direction of Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Services, Bassett, VA.
