Alan Leroy Meese, age 80, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on Thursday November 28, 2019. Alan was born February 18, 1939 to the late Rosene (Boothby) Meese and Roger Schultz Meese. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Meese, son-in-law, Edmond Thurman, grandchild, Sara Collins, and infant twin siblings. Alan retired from Eli Lilly. He was a Past Master of the Beech Grove Masonic Lodge and Past Patron of Eastern Star. He enjoyed puzzles and games to keep his mind challenged and would sit and talk with his friends for hours, often at Mikie's Pub. He often found himself "lucky" when gambling, although he had an advantage with his knowledge and abilities. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life and as such, the family invites all to join them in raising a glass in his honor after the services at Mikie's Pub.

Alan is survived by his wife, Susan (Helkema) Meese; daughters, Elaine Stroud (Randy), Barbara Koenig, Sheila Thurman, and Lenore Gallagher (Paul); son, Jeff Meese (Trinity Collins); sister Noreen Preston; grandchildren Allen Rushing, Adam Rushing, Amanda Groover, Kaitlin Koenig, Jessica Koenig, Elizabeth Loy, Greg Gallagher, Emily Meese, Maxwell Meese, Lily Meese, and Anna Blackburn; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel McQuay, Remington Terry, Joseph McQuay, Ramsey Rushing, Zeke Rushing, Jonathan Misner, Kinlee Groover, Maddilynn Rushing, Kylee Groover, Sofia Lane, Junior Flowers, Brody Rushing, Blake Lee Flowers, Juliana Gallagher, and Ryder Loy.

A visitation for Alan will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
