Betty Louise Stevens

Betty Louise Stevens, 81, of Bloomington died Saturday, June 9, 2018 in her home. She was born October 23, 1936 in Monroe County to Lloyd Stevens and Dorothy (McClary) Stevens. She was retired from Indiana University. Survivors include her two sons, Mark (wife Kathy) Shields of Nashville and Ron (wife Patty) Shields of Unionville; a sister, Phyllis (husband Keith) Shaffer of Bloomington; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchilden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marvin Shields; and her second husband, Paul J. Stevens. She was a lifelong member of Unionville Church of Christ. In addition to working at Indiana University, Betty had also worked at Bloomington High School North. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, June 14th at 10:00 AM with Brother Allen Ketchersid officiating, burial will follow in Knightridge Cemetery.
