E. Delores "Dee" Koop

E. Delores “Dee” Koop, 64 of Bloomington died September 19, 2013 in her home with her family at her side. She was born February 17, 1949 in Greene County, IN to John Gilmore Perry and Anna Victoria Bryum Perry. She had been a care giver for I.U Health Care, Home Health for the last 24 years, prior to that Delores had worked for 25 years at RCA. Dee had also been a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the VFW. Affectionately known as the Boss Lady Dee liked to take charge, she also enjoyed gardening, dancing, singing and was very artistic. Survivors include three daughters, Mecca Walker and her husband Tim of Bloomington, Mechele Mayle and her life partner Angela Woolems of Bloomington and Shilah Hawkins of Plymouth, IN; a son, Scott Koop and his wife Laura of North Vernon, IN; a sister, Larita Knight and her husband Troy of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, David Koop, Sarah Walker, Tarra Mayle, Nick Walker, Nathan Walls, Kodey Spears, Alisha Thompson, Jessica Walker, and Carley Walker; five great grandchildren, Kraven Mayle, Travis Spears, Emma Thompson, Charolet Spears and Jacob Thompson; a sister-in-law, C. J. Perry of Huntington, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her baby boy, Furbie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her life partner, Bobbie Roby, and two brothers, Roy Lee Perry and Scotty J. Perry who died at birth. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 West Gourley Pike with Reverend Frank Helton officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Cremation will follow.
