Bobbie Lee Burruss

Bobbie Lee Burruss, age 90, passed away at her home to be with Jesus on Monday June 27, 2022. She was born on November 26, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Birckhead and Addie Mae Shiflett Birckhead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Wanda Darlene Birckhead and Anna Mae Birckhead Wood. She is survived by her husband of 72 years William Randolph Burruss; a son, Craig Burruss and his wife Margaret; two daughters, Virginia (Ginger) Nofziger and her husband Robin, and Melanie White and her husband Paul. She also survived by grandchildren, Jessica and Amanda Burruss, Amy Becker, Ian Nofziger, and Derek-Eli Nofziger; great grandchildren Hannah, Seth and Aidan; and great great grandchild Virginia.
Bobbie was a dedicated mother and wife. She loved family gatherings and gatherings of fellow believers. Her home was a place of hospitality for all. She often took young people under her wing and “adopted” them. She enjoyed time in her garden with her flowers. Bobbie was a lifetime musician, playing the accordion, piano and organ. She loved to use her gift in church gatherings to lead people in worship. Bobbie knew the Lord and always wanted a deeper experience with Him. She shared Him with others as easily and naturally as breathing.
Visitation hours will be from 5 to 7 PM at the home of William Randolph and Bobbie Burruss in Earlysville VA. Services will be at the same location the following day July 1, 2022 at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of of the Piedmont, who provided compassionate care and support for Bobbie and her family.
