Thomas H Forrer Jr.

Thomas Herring Forrer, Jr., age 67, left this world on December 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his daughters. Born December 18, 1948 in Harrisonburg he was son of the late Thomas Herring Forrer and Helen Kendrick Brown Taylor. Tom will be deeply missed by his three loving daughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Forrer, Alexandra Kendrick Forrer, and Sarah Katherine “Kate”Forrer; his granddaughters, Rowyn and Corinne; and his sisters, Kendrick Brown Forrer Acker, Sarah Deyerle Forrer Jones, Elizabeth Chipley Forrer Gordon, and Mary Mitchell Forrer Bricker. He will also be missed by myriad other family members and friends. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army where he wired missiles and began his electrical career. Prior to his retirement, Tom worked as an electrician in business for himself. He was a man of distinction. One who enjoyed being outside every day. He rejoiced in the sunshine. He always found value in a phone visit. He had a way of doing things that was precise and deliberate. He had an incredible memory. He was always working on something and he loved puzzles. He is known to have said that the two things that get you furthest in life are manners and education, which he strongly meant. He lived every day for his three girls. Rest his soul. A remembrance gathering and service will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Teague Chapel. Mr. Ronnie Bradshaw, a dear friend of Tom, will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Charlottesville Albemarle American Legion Post #74. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
