Carl Frederick "Fred" Stadtmiller

Carl Frederick “Fred” Stadtmiller, 84, of Columbus died 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Fred was born in Columbus November 27, 1935, the son of Carl Henry and Elizabeth Kathryn Ferry Stadtmiller. He married Helen L. Coop; she preceded him in death December 10, 2011. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former employee of Cummins and retired from Arvin Meritor. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, he loved the church, was a very talented singer and was larger than life. Fred touched everyone in his life, he was an exceptional man that put everyone else first. He loved gospel singing, wood working and in his younger years cycling. Survivors are; sons, Daniel Stadtmiller and Michael (Susan) Stadtmiller both of Columbus; grandchildren, Karah (Steven) Arnholt, Ashleigh (Tyler) Shaw, Kaley (Matthew) Stoner, Joshua Stadtmiller all of Columbus, Tyler Stadtmiller of Lexington, KY, Jacob Stadtmiller of Lafayette, IN, Raven Stadtmiller of Bloomington, IN, Jared Stadtmiller of Indianapolis, IN and Brendon Stadtmiller of Bloomington, IN; siblings, Mary Scheurer of Cincinnati, OH, Ann (Loran) Hill of Indianapolis, IN, Barbara Stadtmiller of St. Louis, MO and Rich (Patrick) Stadtmiller of Fremont, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Timothy Stadtmiller; brother, Joseph Stadtmiller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating. Visitation Sunday 2~5 p.m. at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 10:00 a.m. Monday to service time at the Church. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
