Gordon Reed Huey, M.D. Gordon Reed Huey, 68, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, October 28, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Gordon was born September 17th, 1950, in Blount County, TN, the son of Paul Luther and Pauline Reed Huey. Gordon spent his formative years in Evansville, IN, where he attended William Henry Harrison High School, and was active in Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 1975, and went on to the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, graduating from Medical School in 1979, and completing his Residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology in 1983. He married Annalee Groene on March 2, 1985, in Indianapolis, IN. Gordon and Annalee moved their family to Columbus, IN in May, 1989, where he began his obstetrics and gynecology practice at OB/GYN Associates of Columbus, retiring in April, 2011. Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and woodworking/woodturning. He also was an avid reader and loved music, instilling an appreciation of jazz in his children. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Peggy Ann Huey. Survivors include his wife; son Spencer, of Littleton, CO, and daughters Caitlin of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Jennifer of Pittsburgh, PA. Per Gordon’s wishes, cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Otter Creek Clubhouse 11522 E 50 N Columbus, IN 47203.
