Jerald W. Hewitt

Jerald W. Hewitt, 79, of Westport died 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Mr. Hewitt was born in Columbus December 1, 1939, the son of Charles and Lillie Bryant Hewitt. He married Beverly K. Trotter, she survives. He was a Tool Maker and Engineer at Arvin Industries for 25 years. He attended Waynesburg Christian Church. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, fishing, painting and riding motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Beverly K. Hewitt of Westport; sons, Rodney (Rhonda) Hewitt of Columbus and Scott Hewitt of Westport; daughter, Kimberly Hewitt of Westport; sister, Shirley (Larry) Elgar of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Hewitt. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with David Burnett officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8: 00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday to service time. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date.
