Ray Satterfield

Ray Satterfield, 80, of Columbus passed away 7:15 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hickory Creek of Greensburg.
Ray was born in Crawford County, Indiana May 31, 1940, the son of Arthur J. and Myrtle Johnson Satterfield. He worked in the Maintenance Department of Cummins Engine Company 36 years, retiring in 2005.
He was of the Baptist faith; was an ordained minister and taught Sunday school. He was a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
He is survived by sons, Philip Satterfield, Roger (Jenny Baltus) Satterfield and Bryan (Kathy) Satterfield all of Columbus; sisters, Charlotte Copenhaver of Crockett, TX and Dorothy Parker of Conroe, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Danny and John Satterfield.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Robert Lay officiating. Visitation from Noon to service time. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery at Mineral Springs. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity.
In keeping with CDC and Indiana guidelines, social distancing must be followed and masks are required. You may also be asked to wait outside due to the social distanced capacity of the funeral home.
