Tony Leroy Timbrook

Tony Leroy Timbrook, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, August 5th, 2019 at Columbus Transitional Care & Rehab. Born on July 10, 1935, he was 84 years old. Tony graduated for Columbus High School and was in the United States Marine Reserves. He served his country honorably during one year of active duty. Tony retired from Cummins Engine Company at age 55 with 30 years of service. Soon thereafter he started wintering in Okeechobee, Florida and continued to do so for over 25 years. Tony was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved sports and had a passion for NASCAR racing, IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. Tony married Marilyn (Duvall) in July, 1960 and they had 47 wonderful years together. Marilyn preceded him in death. Tony was the son of Denzel and Ruby Timbrook who preceded him in death as well. He is survived by his sister Nancy Wilkerson of Columbus and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m Friday August 9, 2019 at Myers-Reed Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be given to the Bartholomew County Humane Society. The family will receive online condolences at: www.Myers-Reed.com.
