Obituary of David L. Adcock
David "Davie" Lee Adcock, 74, of Evansville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. He was born February 17, 1939, in Earlington, Kentucky. Davie served as a marksman in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, racing motorcycles, woodworking, spending time outdoors, and old country music and old movies. He also loved IU basketball. Davie was a large supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . He was very proud of his business, AAA Delivery Service, which he started with his brother, Kenny. Davie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Charlotte Adcock, wife, Mildred "Celie" and son, Tony Lee Adcock. He is survived by his son, Steve Adcock; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Adcock and Colten Dylan Adcock; great grandchildren, Ava Marie Adcock; brother, Kenny Adcock (Dixie); sister, Starla Clayton (Steve); niece, Robyn Mastison (Jim); nephew, Gary Wayne Adcock (Crystal); niece, Krista Donahue (Kevin); nephew, Troy Clayton (Lindsay); niece Julie Morgan (Neal); great nieces and nephews, David and Krystal Mastison, Gary, Josh, and Holly Adcock, Chloe and Chase Clayton, Grant, Cole and Reid Morgan, Haley and Paul Donahue, Jordyn Mastison, Mykah, Hayden and Gage Mastison, Kaitlyn and Laiten Adcock; and other numerous great nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Gamblin and Rev. Johnny Hibbs, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105.
