Gracellen Robinson
June 27, 1932 – September 22, 2013

When God reached down and collected her soul; she reached up knowing she had to go. . Grace passed peacefully on the morning of September 22, 2013.
Grace was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend.
She was born on June 27, 1932 to Margaret and Gilbert Mayes in Central City, KY. She was married to Edward Robinson for sixty-three years who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by three children, Jeanne Dycus (John), Roger Robinson (Wilma), and Eddie Robinson (Roxanne).
Grace worked for the City of Evansville retiring from the Department of Metropolitan Development; in her life time; she had many roles; scout leader; PTA Mom; bowled in several leagues; member of the VFW 1114 ladies auxillary; traveled with family and friends. She loved gardening and cooking; reading and baseball; she loved children and enjoyed babysitting.
Her happiest moments were spent with her husband and family.
She cherished all of her grandchildren, Deana Johnson (Eric), Debra Roedel (Scott), Jamie Wittington (Rich), Justin Robinson (Katie), Stephanie Hoffherr (Mike) and Andrea Robinson; great-grandchildren, Cooper Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Logan Roedel, Abby Wittington, Jackson Ray Wittington, Sydney Robinson, and Cole Robinson.
She is survived by two sisters, Barbra Schley (Jack) who brought comfort and laughter each week, Anita Zering (George) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Ray Mayes.
She will be missed by many dear friends and neighbors. A special thank you to Dr. Richard Wagner and the nurses at Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gracellen’s behalf to Deaconess Hospice, 600 Mary Street, Evansville, IN 47710.
Visitation will be from 4PM until 7:00PM on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life officiated by Rev. Art Christmas. A private burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery.
