Obituary of Lela Frances Eichele
Lela “Frances” Eichele, 90, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018, at River Pointe Health Campus. She was born on September 30, 1928, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Robert and Lela Terrell. Frances was a life-long member of the Bible Center –The Cathedral. She played the marimba and the timpani with the band for services. She was a Sunday school teacher for The Ladies Class for more than 30 years. Frances loved to travel and spend time with family. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Eichele; sister, Marjorie Terrell; and brother, Robert Terrell. Frances is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charles F. Eichele; daughters, Sharon Fesmire (Allan) of Evansville, IN and Becky Grove (Rodney) of Merriville, IN; son, Steve Eichele (Cathy) of Boonville, IN; grandchildren, Jonathan Fosdick, Rachel Koch, Melissa Edmondson, Rodney Grove and Jessica Wolf; three great grandchildren; sister, Lenore Boyd; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at The Cathedral, 5000 N. First Avenue, with burial in New Salem Campground Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Frances’ family would like to extend a special thank you to her physician, Dr. William Hardesty, and also the staff at River Pointe Health Campus for their wonderful care.
