Mabel Frances Hape

Mabel Frances Hape, nee Bentle, 97, passed quietly into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, IN. Mabel was born in Westmoreland, TN, and lived most of her life in Evansville, IN. Mabel is preceded in transition by her parents, Leonard and Ann Bentle; husband, Maurice (Hap) Hape; son, Lonnie Hape, grandsons, Randy Brummett and David Brown; sisters, Mildred Weldon and Mary Jo Barron; and brother, Jack Bentle. She is survived by sons, Mike Hape (Mary) and Marty Hape (Trina); daughters, Candace Hape and Marsha Britt (Kenny); 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 19 great, great grandchildren; numerous honorary grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The Hape Family would like to thank the staff at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center for its unconditional love and care of our Mother, as well as the continuous care of our sister, Candy. Also, many thanks to the wonderful care workers at Hospice for making our Mother’s final days comfortable. Last, but not least, thank you to Robin Holder and the staff at Alexander East Funeral Chapel for their care and preparation of Mother for her final journey Home. A Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Chaplain Tom Hubachek, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cypress Grove Activity Fund or SouthernCare Hospice.
