Obituary of Marjorie L Reisinger
Marjorie “Margie” Reisinger (Phelps) 85, of Evansville, went to be with her Lord Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born in Evansville, IN on July 23, 1934 to the late Margarette and Berlon Phelps. She graduated from Reitz High School and attended USI where she made several lifelong friendships. She enjoyed working at Bristol Meyers-Squib until she retired in 1993. A strong Christian woman, Margie was an active member of Simpson United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a youth leader, sang in the choir and was a longtime member of the United Methodist Woman’s Group. Sharing her love of God and helping people were an especially important part of her life. She had a loving, compassionate spirit and a smile that would light up any room. Her love of people was obvious to everyone she met. Most of all she was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandma, and sister who was always selfless and put her family first. Marjorie was preceded in death by her Parents; brother, Robert Phelps and special brother-in-law, Mike Rumsey. Margie is survived by her husband of 66 years Earl; three children; sons, Tom, Rick (Patti); daughter, Mary Schweizer (Anthony LeBarron); seven grandchildren, Jacob and Sam Schweizer, Beth (Paul) Fehrenbacher, Seth, Marlee, Nicole and Mickey Reisinger, two great grandchildren, Claire and Avery; sister Marilyn Rumsey and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers that have taken such wonderful care of Margie over the past 7 years. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Joe Mitchell and Pastor Benjamin Dilworth with Entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family request that you please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Simpson United Methodist Church.
