Martina Hite, age 37, of Evansville, IN, passed away at Deaconess Hospital, Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from a house explosion that happened at 1:00 pm at 1010 S. Weinbach Avenue, the resident’s home in Evansville, IN.
She was born on March 28, 1985 in Evansville, IN, a daughter of Thomas and Kelly (Thompson) Evans. She married Charles Hite in 2016. Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death, also, on August 10, 2022.
Martina was a 2005 graduate of Central High School in Evansville, IN. She loved watching scary movies with her older sister, Jennifer, prancing around like she was dancing to music and learned to partially cook meals from her mom when she was in middle school. Martina loved cats and her little dog (Dachshund mix), loved riding bikes through the town, selling wares at the Fresh Market; and, playing in Special Olympics. (Basketball, Bowling and Corn Toss). Her favorite color is purple. She, also, wore purple outfits to special occasions or events that she might go to.
Survivors include her parents, Thomas Lawrence Evans and Kelly Marie (Thompson) Evans; 2 sisters, Anne Marie Evans and Kelly Marie-Juniorette Evans; 1 brother, Thomas Lawrence Evans, Jr.; step sisters, Jennifer Jean (Boutcher) McNealy and Loren Miriah (Boutcher) Meissner; 1 niece, Lillian Jean Layman; 2 nephews, Kodi Meissner and Kaleb Meissner; 1 great niece, Evelyn “Evie” Rene Johnson; and, 2 great nephews, Zane Layman and William Dwayne “Liam” Johnson.
She will be missed by many of those who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville, IN 47712.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday at the chapel and livestreamed beginning at 12:30 pm at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
The funeral is officiated by Pastor John Eaton with burial to follow in Locust Hill Cemetery.
