Paul D Vollman Sr.

Paul “Dan” Vollman, 83, of Evansville, IN passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020. He was born in Evansville, IN on December 20, 1936 to the late John and Pearl Vollman. Dan was a veteran of the US Air Force, receiving the prestigious Knights of the Blue Nose membership while in Thule, Greenland for Excellent Service to Air Craft. He was a life member of VFW Post 3418 in Boonville, IN. Dan retired from Whirlpool Corp as Superintendent of Maintenance and Supervisor of Plant Engineering for 30 years. He was a 52 year member of Evansville Masonic Lodge # 64, 51 year member of the Scottish Rite, 51 year member of the Hadi Shrine, 52 year member of the Eastern Star # 450 in Boonville, IN. Dan was a lifetime member of SIAM antique machinery, a member of the old Millersburg, IN Methodist Church and attended Blue Grass Methodist Church. He loved to work on antique engines. Dan was a top lawn mower repairman for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling and sitting every day with Nancy at 3:15 p.m. in the swing under the big oak tree to wind down the day. Dan never met a stranger and had the most enjoyment while working in his shop and traveling with Nancy. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Chandley Vollman; his children, Paul Vollman, Jr. (Natasha) of WI, Harold Vollman of Ohio, Tami Bottoms (Bill) of Evansville, IN, Ralph Chandley, II of Evansville, IN and Scott Chandley of NY; grandchildren, Steve Vollman, Paul Vollman, III, (Kristi), Mike Vollman, Chessney Vollman, Heather Bottoms, Aaron Bottoms and Greg Kermode; four great-grandchildren; brother, Cliff Vollman of Folsomville (Carolyn); sister, Yvonne “Sue” Chalfant, IL; several nieces and nephews; his special pet Elsa Chandley. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and caretakers at the Heart Group at Gateway Hospital for their special care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital and the Disabled American Veterans. Dan requested there be no visitation or services.
