Ralph F. Batteiger

Ralph F. Batteiger, 88, of Evansville went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2024. Ralph was born on March 15, 1936 to Frederick and Susanna H. (Wolf) Batteiger. Ralph was united in marriage to Carol Jean Grimm on October 8, 1960 in St. John's United Church of Christ in Evansville. They enjoyed 63 years together. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church where he served as an usher for many years. Ralph graduated from Reitz High School in 1954. He attended Butler University for two years in the forestry program. He proudly served in the US Army where he was stationed in Europe for four years. He retired after 40 years from a career as an Electrician at Whirlpool Corp. Ralph was a member of The Masonic Lodge and the Eagles. He enjoyed gardening and birds. He loved to travel with his family. Some of his favorite activities included dancing, card games, bingo and checkers. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leona Gray and Pauline Schuler. Ralph is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Brian of Salem, VA; daughter, Kathy (Jim) Tretter of Ferdinand, IN; four nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Alexander Memorial Park – Heritage Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dale Beaver, with burial following.
