Ramona Louise Guess

Ramona Louise Guess, 84, of Evansville, IN passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Grand Rivers, KY on May 8, 1934 to Howard and Maudeline Howell. She retired from the United Mine Workers Association after 22 years. Ramona was a very active member of Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church in Kuttawa, KY and was elected the first woman trustee. She also served as President at Eddyville Art Guild Society for 20 years. Ramona was bestowed the title Kentucky Colonel by the Governor. She moved to Evansville several years ago and attended Bethel Temple. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; sisters; and her grandson, Tom Guess. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl W. Guess; sons, Ron Guess, Kelly Guess, Joe Guess; grandchildren, Tim, Nick, Chris, Mike and Matt Guess; 7 great-grandchildren; and close family friends, Connie Fleck, Leah Guess, and Debbie Guess. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeremy Short with entombment in Oak Hill Mausoleum. Friends may visit 1-4 p.m. on Sunday and 12:00 p.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Temple or Eddyville Art Guild.
