Sheldon Hauge

Sheldon Hauge, 86, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. He was born on November 6, 1933 in Oslo, Norway, to Gunda and Hans Hauge.
Sheldon held a degree in electrical engineering, was a linguist, and also taught high school in Norway. He had an engineer’s mind and a teacher’s heart. He was the author of two books that were glossaries of technical terms, and also worked as a translator.
He loved all animals, especially cats. He loved his extended family and had many friends in America, Norway, and around the world. After he retired, he helped his dad relocate to America, where he met the love of his life, and married in 2002. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed sharing stories of his life and adventures in Norway.
Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and brother-in-law.
Sheldon is survived by his wife of 17 years, Ingrid (Grahn) Hauge, cousins, and two nephews.
Private services will be held at a future date with burial to follow at Alexander Memorial Park.
