Vicky Jean Nute
December 25, 1954 – June 18, 2022

Vicky Jean Nute, 67, passed peacefully at Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville, IN on Saturday, June 18th, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Vicky was born in Evansville, IN to late Herman Gentry and Constance Gentry, Sr. on Christmas Day, 1954.
She had a memorable childhood with her brothers, Virgil Sandefur and Herman Gentry and a host of cousins. Vicky was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Her family was her greatest strength. The amount of love she had for her children and grandchildren is indescribable. They were what kept her going. Vicky treasured the times she spent with her nieces and nephews.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Constance Gentry, Sr., her youngest brother, Herman Gentry, Jr., and a host of aunts and uncles.
Vicky was survived by her husband of 40 years, Homer Nute of Deming, NM; children, Angel Wright (Jeff) of Stotts City, MO, Anthony Nute of Rainsville, AL; brother, Virgil Sandefur of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Caitlyn Baeza (Eric Hughes), Ariel Nute (William Moody), Ernest Torres, Miranda Nute, Ethan Nute (Hayden Slayton), Ayla Rice, Justin Wright, Maddie Wright; great grandchildren, Chesnie Wooten, Rorie Moody, Declyn Moody, Mariana Nute; niece, Jennifer Gentry; nephews, Kealohi Sandefur, Kanoelani Sandefur, Herman Gentry III.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Contributions in Vicky's memory may be made to Mesker Park Zoo Botanical Garden or Vanderburgh County Humane Society.
