William C. Arvin Sr., 83, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at his home. He was born December 7, 1927 in Evansville, IN.
He worked for 31 years with the Railroads, C&EI, then L&N, and CSX and was a member of VFW. He enjoyed collecting coins as a hobby.
William was preceded in death by daughter, Janet Arvin; and son, Roger Arvin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruby (Miller) Arvin; daughters, Brenda Franks, Debbie Arvin; sons, William Arvin Jr. (Mary Kay); daughter, Sandy Jones Curtis (Jim); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gerry Birkla (Bill).
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Backes, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel.
The family would like to extend deep appreciation to the Nurses with Deaconess Hospice.
