Obituary of Edward Michael Czarnetzky
Edward Michael Czarnetzky, 74, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Annandale, VA. Big Ed was born in Palos Heights, Illinois, and was the son of Dr. Edward J. Czarnetzky and Lucille L. Czarnetzky. He spent the early years of his life living in Chazy, New York, working alongside his father at the Miner Agricultural Research Institute and Farm. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree and continued his education, while doing graduate work, at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He had a passion for science and medicine. He was the founder of IGS, a successful jewelry business that is still thriving, and was a member and former President of the American Society of Appraisers. He spent the better part of his life on a soccer field where he coached and mentored (and let just a few referees have it!) for the Annandale Boys & Girls Club. He had many hobbies and approached all with fervency. He is survived by his longtime partner, Sandra E. Raine; his widow, Sue E. Czarnetzky; a son, Edward J. Czarnetzky of Vienna, Virginia; a daughter, Suzanne C. Barnhart of Charlotte, North Carolina; and four beautiful granddaughters; Porter L. Barnhart and Elizabeth L. Barnhart of Charlotte, North Carolina and Esther B. Czarnetzky and Lilah M. Czarnetzky of Vienna, Virginia; as well as many close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annandale Boys & Girls Club where scholarships will be provided to players that need financial assistance with registration fees. Online donations can be made on their website- https://annandaleunitedfc.sportngin.com/register/form/533340757. Checks can be sent to the Annandale Boys & Girls Club, 4216 Annandale Road, Annandale, VA 22003. (Edward Czarnetzky in subject line). Thank you. A service will be held in the picnic area in front of the Everett G. Germain, Jr. Field (Field #4) at Mason District Park (6621 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003) on November 3, 2018 at 1:00pm. A celebration of a wonderful life will follow on the back deck at Kilroy’s (5250 Port Royal Road, Springfield, VA 22151). There will be a private entrance around the back of the restaurant. (We did our best to write this, however there are no words that can come close to describing the man that was our Dad).
