Born March 25, 1927 in Greensboro, NC, died October 9, 2017 in Springfield, VA after a recent fall and injury. Beloved husband for 61 years to Vivian Thomas Phillips; father of James Harrison Phillips, III and daughter-in-law Nina of Fairfax, VA; father of Daphne Phillips Berge and son-in-law Fred of South Charleston, OH; father of Glenna Phillips Hahn and son-in-law Tony in Fairfax, VA. Grandfather to Tory Phillips Caudill (Chad), James Dallas Phillips, Hayley Anne Hahn, Mallory Jo Hahn, Brian Foley (Yuki), and Christina Foley Havenner (Justin). Visitation will be held on October 13th from 6-8PM at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, Virginia. A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on October 14th at 1PM in the chapel at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA.
