IN THE CARE OF
Murphy Funeral Homes
Janet Beall, a long-time resident of Northern Virginia, died Thursday the 10th of September, peacefully at home.
Born at the turning point of the Great Depression, Janet remained fiercely independent throughout her 86 years. She loved classic cars, gardening and looking after the local wildlife. She was a caretaker to many plants and animals, befriending racoons, squirrels and foxes alike. She preferred to keep her sleeves rolled up, working on many of those projects simultaneously.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Lois Beall, as well as Reggie “the greatest dog to have ever lived,” who’s wisdom and loyalty exceeded that of many people. She is survived by many extensions of family, some of whom when asked what is your relation, is simply “she’s my Janet.”
Janet was a true curator of oddities and wit. Her stories, sharp humor and overall tenacity will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020. The viewing will be at the Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA from 10:00am to 1:00pm with the Interment and service at the Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church immediately thereafter.
