Margaret (Peggy) Ann Leese, 83, of McLean, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Margaret was born in Hartford, Connecticut to George and Frances Turley. She married William F. Leese on June 8, 1963 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. Together they raised three daughters and a son.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and a Master of Science in Medical Surgical Nursing from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She enjoyed a long and successful career in a variety of nursing, training, and director of nursing positions, specializing in geriatric nursing.
In addition to her family and career, Margaret was a devout Catholic, loved spending time with her family’s dogs, enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint, and was an avid fan to the Washington Capitals hockey team.
She is survived by her husband, William; four children, Diana, Jennifer and her husband Michael, Jeff and Nancy; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Emma and Gracie; and nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances; and her siblings, Geraldine, Frances and Eugene.
A small graveside service will be held on January 15, 2021 at National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, Virginia. A service and celebration of life will be postponed to a later date, when we can all safely be together. Condolences and fond memories may be made to the Leese family at murphyfuneralhomes.com
