Nora Sheila Zadd

Nora “Sheila” Zadd, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2018 at her home in Vienna, VA surrounded by her family. Sheila was born in August of 1935 in Greenwich, CT. Sheila rarely sat idle. She was a proud Navy wife and mother of three children. Her career as an radiographer and CAT scan technician spanned over 50 years. She had a life-long passion for tennis and loved playing bridge with her friends. Sheila had a marvelous talent for reupholstering furniture and creating beautiful draperies. She will be remembered for her spirited Irish disposition and her (tasty) baked goods. Sheila was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles Zadd, her daughter Sheila Ann Hartig, her parents Patrick and Nora Hegarty, her sister Carmel and brother Gerald. She was survived by her sisters; Madeline (Honey) and Patricia; her son, PJ Zadd and daughter, Laurie West, (Louis Hartig) and grandchildren; Meredith, Charlie, and Tiffany. Sheila's funeral will occur at 11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2019 at Arlington National Cemetery. She will be laid to rest beside her husband CDR Charles J. Zadd. To enter Ft. Myer-Henderson Base, you must enter the Hartfield Gate; 101 Carpenter Road, Arlington, VA 22214; The only way to access the Hartfield Gate will be via Columbia Pike. The service begins at the Old Post Chapel 204 Lee Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211 located at Ft. Myer (Joint-Base Myer-Henderson Hall). Please enter Ft. Myer at the Hatfield Gate; 2nd Street, South, in Arlington, VA. Family and friends should arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the scheduled service time.
