Paul Stephen Fitzgibbons

PAUL STEPHEN FITZGIBBONS Paul Stephen Fitzgibbons was born on 15 January 1957 in Gottingen, Germany, and died on 16 September 2022 in Alexandria, Virginia, after a long illness. Paul graduated from Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, N.Y. Paul attended Assumption College in Worchester, Mass. and then launched on a successful 40-year career in retail management. He managed departments at Marshalls, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor’s, and Nordstrom. His career took him from Westchester County, N.Y., to Fairfax County, VA., and finally to Richmond, VA. Paul enjoyed all forms of transportation but his favorite was the train. He was an avid train club member, a train route follower, a model train collector, and a talented train station photographer. He was also a history buff and a cat lover, especially Fred and Ginger. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Helen and John Fitzgibbons, and is survived by his siblings, Jane Fitzgibbons of Falls Church, VA., John (Jack) Fitzgibbons M.D. of Stamford, CT., and David Fitzgibbons of Scottsdale, AZ; his sister-in-law, Beverly Fitzgibbons; his cousins, Carol and Dick Walsh, and Caitlin and Rick Walsh; 2 nieces, Kate Turner (John) and Stacey Cleary (Rich); 2 nephews, Mike (Mary) and Matt (Danelle); and 14 great nieces and nephews to whom he wished all the best in life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hidradenitis Supertiva Foundation at www.hs-foundation.org. A family service is being planned for later this year.
