Daniel J. Alvord-Meyer, 50, of Wabash, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born June 14, 1968, in Grand Blanc, Mich., he was a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Gillies) Alvord. After graduation, Daniel served as a Military Police Officer with the United States Army. He continued his education at Ivy Tech, Grand Canyon University, and American Public University with a concentration in Culinary Arts. A kind-hearted man with a great sense of humor, Daniel enjoyed attending church at God’s House in Marion, Ind. A sports fanatic, Daniel enjoyed college football and the NFL to include the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions. Daniel had a love for animals, music, cooking shows, HDTV, the color purple, and being active on Facebook so that he could inform family and friends of the latest occurrences in his life. A big kid, his favorite Holiday was Christmas. Starting as early as October and lasting through January, Daniel would enjoy listening to Christmas music, baking, and enjoying all the festivities. He is survived by his spouse, Thomas Meyer of Wabash, Ind.; children, Charles Alvord of California, Tiffany Alvord of Seoul, South Korea, Caitlyn Alvord of Marion, Ind., Patrick Alvord of Marion, Ind., and Benjamin Alvord of Converse, Ind. Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
