Donald K. Jefferies

Donald K. Jefferies, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Heritage Park. Born September 5, 1932 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Richard and Helen (Huffman) Jefferies. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army for nearly three years during the Korean War era. A graduate of Central high School, Donald was the Vice President of Production with Marketing Impact for over 25 years, from which he retired in 1998. He was a charter member with Messiah Lutheran Church and a member of American Legion Post 47 for 42 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, spending time at the lake, and was a champion washer player. A family man, Donald enjoyed life and treasured time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June (Renner) Jefferies of Fort Wayne; children Lynda (Willie) Thomas of Fort Wayne and Gary (Karin) Jefferies of Harlan; daughter-in-law, Krista Jefferies of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Jefferies of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Larry Jefferies; sister, Sharon Miller; brother, Eugene Jefferies; and sister-in-law, Jackie Jefferies. Funeral Service will be 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Heart to Heart Hospice.
