Frederick H. Haines

FREDERICK H. HAINES, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1923 in Stamford, Conn. He was a World War II Veteran and retired in 1989 as co-owner of Protective Coatings after 35 years. He graduated from Princeton University and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Anthony Wayne Lions Club where he received the Lion of the year award two times, and volunteered for the League for the Blind & Disabled. Surviving are his daughter, Mary E. (Robert) Snow of Fort Wayne; sons, William L. Haines of Fort Wayne, and Joseph C. Haines of Cape Coral, Fla.; granddaughter, Cecelia Snow; brother, Frank Haines of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, who died in 2007; and his parents, William and Harriet Haines. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Rev. Steve Ensley officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Bural at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Memorials to League for the Blind & Disabled or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
