Herbert P. Bruick

Herbert Paul Bruick, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on April 15th, 2018 at the LifeCare Center of Fort Wayne. Herbert was born on November 25, 1928 to the late Llewelyn and Hilda Bruick. A life-long resident of Fort Wayne, Herbert was a retired Independent Insurance Agent for more than 40 years, ending his career at the Funk Insurance Agency. He was a 1947 graduate of North Side High School, where he played basketball 1944-1947; football 1945-1947 and ran track from 1944-1947. Herb was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anne (Turley) Bruick; daughters Kay-Louise; Tracey (Derrick) Creal; son Robert G. Bruick; and granddaughters Maya, Shelby and Makenna Bruick. He is also survived by his nephew Ken (Carol) Bruick and nieces Connie Bruick and Cheryl (Bob) Callon. He is preceded in death by his brothers Donald J. Bruick, and Robert Bruick. Herbie, as he was known to his family, was a good, kind, gentle man who loved to play golf, watch Indiana Hoosiers basketball, fish and vacation in Canada, and spend time with his family. He spent the last years of his life fighting Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease at the Life Care Center of Fort Wayne. He will be missed by many who knew him. Funeral service will be 11am, Friday, April 20, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
