JACK RODGERS, 85, of Fort Wayne, died 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at his residence. Born Sept. 10, 1927 in Stueben County, he was a son of the late F. Benitt Rodgers and Ida Reynolds Rodgers. He was a Yard Master with Pennsyvania Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Broadway Christian Church and the Pennsylvania Railroad Association. He is survivied by his wife, Janice (Kissell) Rodgers of Fort Wayne; son, Stephen (Kathleen) Rodgers of Pasedena, Calif.; daughter, Jackie McGettigan of Fort Wayne; son, James Rodgers of Fort Wayne; sister, Mary Jane Bushong of Elkhart; half-sisters, Judy Aldrich, Bonnie Booth and Sharri Rodgers; half-brother, Robert Rodgers; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-granchildren. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at Broadway Christian Church, with viewing one hour prior. Pastor Robert Yawberg officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Sloan & Sons Funeral Home. Entombment at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Broadway Christian Church. www.sloanandsons.com.
