Obituary of Linda Kay (Seabold) Babb
Linda K. Seabold Babb Linda Babb, 51, died peacefully, Friday, June 6, in Hospice Care at Parkview Regional Medical Center after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born June 11, 1962 she was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. Graduate of Elmhurst High School, she was a devoted educator and began teaching outdoor curriculum at Three Rivers Montessori School. Miss Linda’s students lovingly called her “Barn Lady.” Her passion for nature might be found on campus in helping children learn about animal life cycles by catching tadpoles and watching them mature into frogs. She helped her students learn compassion and care for animals by taking care of the school’s livestock. Later, her gift for teaching continued indoors as a certified Montessori teacher. After being diagnosed with cancer, Linda taught her children at MLK Montessori about love, change, and courage. She pulled strength from them, and found hope in their resilient spirits. Together, they found bravery. Her determined optimism came in the form of frequent posts to social media providing those she knew and loved with a reminder that her disease would not define her. She always ended on a positive note, and always wanted to acknowledge the gifts that she was given. The impact she had on our lives was immense, and a constant reminder that unconditional love is the biggest legacy you can leave. She is survived by her husband, Kevin, children, Alyssa and Ethan. She is also survived by three sisters; Rebecca Curdes of Moyock, NC, Sharon Mercer, Kathy Jarvis and sister-in-law Brenda Ginder-Seabold, all of Fort Wayne. She also is survived by an aunt, several cousins and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Virginia Seabold and brother, John. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday June12 at Klaehn, Fahl, Melton Funeral Home, 420 West Wayne Street. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to South West Montessori, 1625 Magnavox Way, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 or Cancer Services of NE Indiana, 6316 Mutual Dr. Fort Wayne, IN 46825
